Lady Mariéme welcomed Edwina Dunn, Big Data Pioneer and founder of Dunnhumby & Starcount, to the iamtheCODE Podcast. They both shared their love for data. Dunn was awarded an OBE in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to Data and business in the UK.
Along with their husband, Clive Humby, she co-founded Dunnhumby, the company which pioneered data-driven marketing through the Tesco Clubcard loyalty scheme. She is now chief executive at data science consultancy Starcount. Also, She spearheads the What I See Project – a not-for-profit initiative to promote the voices and experiences of women from around the world through the medium of film. Edwina grew up in the UK and shared her career experience in male-dominated spaces. She didn’t have many women who guided her. That’s why she encourages girls to pursue career paths needed in society and go for something that they’re passionate about. Edwina wants to see a strong presence of women in male-dominated spaces to create more leaders and role models for girls. Hence, she started The Female Lead platform to celebrate the incredible stories of women. She believes that “You can’t be what you can’t see.”
