IamtheCODE is the first African-led global movement to mobilize governments, the private sector, philanthropic foundations, investors and civil society to advance STEAMED (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship and Design) education. Its goal is to mobilize these groups to invest in future technologies that can drive sustainable development for women and girls in marginalized communities. We aim to enable 1 million young women and girls’ coders by 2030

The Role

The Community Manager will be responsible for fostering community engagement and creating a strong support system for the iamtheCODE Girls Coding Program. The role involves building relationships within the community, mobilizing participants from different schools, and ensuring smooth collaboration between the program team and stakeholders.

  2. Act as the primary point of contact for program participants and their families.
  3. Partnership Building
  4. Communication and Advocacy
  5. Program Support:

Required Qualifications and Experience:

1. Education:

  • Diploma or degree in Community Development, Social Work, or a related field.

2. Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in community engagement, mobilization, or related roles.
  • Experience working in refugee or underserved communities is an advantage.

3. Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a multicultural setting.
  • Basic understanding of digital skills education or willingness to learn.
